# Claude Code Was Getting Dumber. Stopped It from Auto-Spawning Sub-Agents. Performance Came Back Instantly.

Claude Code Opus 4.6 was auto-spawning sub-agents for every task causing rework loops, sloppy work, and lost context. Sub-agents reported Done without validation. Fixed with one CLAUDE.md global rule: no agents without express authorization. Performance returned instantly. Still uses sub-agents for bulk tasks but main agent sets up process first.
