# Free AMFI Mutual Fund NAV API for India - Historical NAV by Scheme Code, No Key

**The MF NAV API has its own hub now.** Every endpoint, worked examples, the bulk download files and the live console sit in one place: [tigzig.com/apis/mf-nav](https://www.tigzig.com/apis/mf-nav). The app, with manual search, analytics and downloads, is at [tigzig.com/mfpro](https://www.tigzig.com/mfpro). This post is from June 2026 and is kept as it was written.

A free, open **AMFI mutual fund NAV API** for India - no key, no sign-up. If you have ever tried to get Indian mutual fund NAV data programmatically, you know the pain. AMFI publishes it, but as a giant daily text dump. Most "APIs" make you pull one scheme at a time, with rate limits, and only recent history.

So I built an open one. Free, no API key, no sign-up. And it does the thing I have not seen anyone else do: **let you download the entire NAV history - every scheme, every day - in one click, or in a single API call.**

## What you get

- **20.5 million+ daily NAV records** - and growing, refreshed daily from AMFI
- **18,000+ schemes** - every live and historical AMFI scheme
- **History back to October 2008** - not just the last couple of years
- **Source: AMFI India** (the official Association of Mutual Funds in India feed)
- **No authentication.** No key, no sign-up, no quota games. Just call it.

## What you can do with it

All of this is free, with no key and no sign-up:

- **Find a scheme** - search by fund name to get its AMFI scheme code.
- **Pull one scheme's full NAV history** - pass the AMFI scheme code and get its entire history back, optionally from a start date.
- **Want the whole database? Two ways:**
    - **Human way** - open the [MFPRO Download Full Database tab](https://mfpro.tigzig.com/dashboard#returns/data-api/download). Click a button and the file downloads. Parquet, CSV, TSV, or SQLite. No code.
    - **AI / API way** - a single GET on `/mf/v1/download` and all 20.5M+ rows land as a single file. Approx sizes: Parquet ~109 MB, CSV ~132 MB compressed, SQLite ~462 MB compressed.

## Full documentation

The complete, always-current reference - every endpoint, its parameters, ready-to-run code, the download formats and the OpenAPI / Swagger console - lives in one place:

**[MF NAV API docs at tigzig.com/apis/mf-nav](/apis/mf-nav)**

I keep the how-to there rather than repeating it here, because the API is actively being extended - so the docs stay right while any code pasted into a blog post would quietly go stale. Start there for the base URL, live examples and the interactive Swagger console.

<p style="margin:0 0 10px;">MFPRO runs on this same AMFI data, in your browser. No key, no download, no code. Pick up to 200 funds (or start from a ready-made preset of 24 or 104), add any Nifty or BSE benchmark, and compare over any period.</p>
<p style="margin:0 0 10px;"><strong>Returns:</strong> CAGR across windows, Sharpe, Sortino, alpha, beta, R-squared, up and down capture, drawdowns and Calmar, VaR, and rolling returns (average, median, min, max, beat %). 40+ return, risk and drawdown metrics in all.</p>
<p style="margin:0 0 14px;"><strong>Composition:</strong> for 24 major equity funds (about a third of the equity universe), drill into holdings, entries and exits, and index composition.</p>
