# How do I use Claude in Excel?

You can use Claude inside Excel to build models, dashboards and reports, and to pull **live data** - databases, market data and quant metrics - into the sheet over **MCP**. One practical route is **xlwings Lite**, which runs Python in Excel and can call MCP tools, so Claude can fetch data and write it straight into cells.
