# Is there a free Yahoo Finance API and MCP server?

Yes. TigZig runs a free Yahoo Finance Data API powered by the open-source `yfinance` library. It returns **financials, prices, market data, analyst price targets, recommendations, earnings and revenue estimates, an earnings calendar, major holders, dividends, splits, corporate actions and detailed company info for any ticker** across roughly **24 endpoints**. Financial statements come in two forms: a structured-JSON family under `/v1/excel/` and a plain family that returns pipe-delimited CSV text.

It is available both as a plain HTTP API and as an **MCP server** (17 tools), so an AI agent (in Claude, ChatGPT or your own client) can call it directly as a tool.
