# What is Google Antigravity, and do I already have it?

**Antigravity is Google's agentic coding tool** - a full AI coding agent rather than a chat window. And the part most people miss: **if you already pay for the Google subscription (Rs 1,950 a month in India at the time of writing), it is included.** There is also a **free tier with weekly limits**, so you can try it before deciding.

**What it actually does.** Because it is a real coder rather than a chatbot, it manages your local files, **pulls data directly from feeds** like Yahoo Finance or FRED, builds custom HTML dashboards, and helps with Excel automation - VBA, Power Query M, or [Python in Excel via xlwings Lite](https://www.tigzig.com/agents-faq/how-to-learn-python-in-excel-xlwings). It covers the same ground as a Cowork-style analytics front end and then some.

**If the interface puts you off,** know that it opens looking like a developer code editor - you can hide the file-explorer side panels and switch from dark to light, and it then feels much closer to a familiar chat app. It is a desktop app; the installer is on [Google's download page](https://antigravity.google/download). **One safety point worth keeping.** The agent runs on *your machine*, with access to your local files and the ability to execute terminal commands. It ships configured to **ask permission before running any command - keep that manual approval switched on** until you are comfortable with the tool. That is a sensible default for any agent with a filesystem and a shell, not a criticism of this one.
