VIGIL tracks India corporate red-flag signals built entirely from **publicly available filings and disclosures on the National Stock Exchange of India (NSE)**. The universe is the Nifty Total Market - approximately 750 companies (Nifty 500 + Nifty Microcap 250). This page documents every dataset: its official source, coverage window, refresh cadence, the key fields, and known quirks.

## BRSR Aggregate Data

Business Responsibility & Sustainability Report disclosures (mandatory for the top 1,000 listed entities by market cap under SEBI LODR Reg. 34(2)(f)). Sourced from XBRL filings published with each company's Annual Report. Currently 712 of 751 Nifty Total Market constituents have filed for FY24-25; 39 are late or PDF-only.

**Key fields:** Symbol, Revenue / Net Worth, Workforce (Permanent / Contract x Employees / Workers x M / F), Median Wages by category and gender, POSH + 7 complaint categories (FY25 + FY24 + pending), Turnover Rate, Geography wage share, Parental Leave, Board / KMP composition.

## Related Party Transactions (RPT)

All related party transactions disclosed under SEBI LODR Regulation 23, extracted from official XBRL filings submitted to the stock exchange. Covers transactions with subsidiaries, associates, joint ventures, promoters, KMPs, and their relatives, across the Nifty Total Market (~750 companies). Relationship groups are classified using a text-parsing algorithm applied to the free-text relationship field in each filing.

**Key fields:** Company, Symbol, Counter Party, Relationship, Rel Group, Transaction Type, Approved Value, Amount During Period, Outstanding Balance, Period End Date, Broadcast Date.

RPT filings are half-yearly (Sep and Mar periods); most arrive Oct-Nov and Apr-May, and weekly scans catch late filers. Extraction was validated against all 1,440 XBRL filings with 100% accuracy (Mar 2026).

## Credit Ratings

All credit rating actions (upgrades, downgrades, new, reaffirmations) across every agency - CRISIL, ICRA, CARE, India Ratings, Acuite, Brickwork, Infomerics. Covers listed, unlisted, InvIT, and REIT entities.

## Insider Trading

Promoter, director, KMP, and designated-person buy / sell / pledge transactions under SEBI PIT (Prohibition of Insider Trading) disclosures, across all equity-listed companies on NSE.

## Promoter Pledge

Quarterly shareholding-pattern data showing promoter pledge and encumbrance positions under SEBI LODR Regulation 31 - a company-level snapshot of aggregate totals across all promoters. Covers pledged shares, encumbered shares, and promoter holding percentages.

**Key fields:** Company, SHP Quarter, Promoter Holding %, Encumbered %, Pledged %, Pledge Value (Cr), Broadcast Date.

Companies placed under surveillance measures (ASM, GSM, ESM) by NSE / SEBI, along with other flags such as IRP, ICA, loss-making status, and encumbrance alerts.

Substantial acquisition and takeover disclosures under SEBI SAST Regulation 29, filed when any person - promoter, institutional investor, or acquirer - crosses key ownership thresholds (5%, 25%, and so on) in a listed company.

Individual promoter encumbrance events - each creation, release, or invocation of pledge / lien / NDU on shares - filed by promoters within 7 working days of each event under SEBI SAST Regulation 31/32. Shows per-event detail: which promoter, how many shares, which lender, and the resulting encumbrance position.
