What This App Does
#Technical analysis for any Yahoo Finance symbol, in two steps:
- In Excel: daily prices from the TIGZIG Yahoo Finance API, weekly bars built from them, indicators computed in pandas, and charts drawn with Matplotlib
- Indicators: EMA 12 and 26, RSI 14, ROC 14, MACD (12, 26, 9), Bollinger Bands (20, 2), Stochastic %K / %D, Williams %R
- AI report: one call to the TIGZIG Technical Analysis API returns a PDF and an HTML report, written by an LLM from the charts and indicators
- The report links appear in Excel; open, no API key needed
- Date ranges default to the last 6 months (daily) and 3 years (weekly), so the workbook stays current

This tool is for educational and informational purposes only. Not investment research or advice.
How to Use
#- Download & open: get the workbook and open xlwings Lite (Home > Add-ins). The HOW_IT_WORKS sheet explains every step; the buttons are on the MASTER sheet.
- Choose the symbol: any Yahoo Finance symbol, for example ^NSEI, RELIANCE.NS or AAPL. Leave the dates empty for the defaults, or type your own.
- 1. Pull Prices & Charts: writes PRICES_DAILY, PRICES_WEEKLY and CHARTS
- 2. Get AI Report (PDF + HTML): takes about a minute, then the report links appear on MASTER. The report is written by Claude Sonnet 5.5 by default; pick Claude Opus 5.5 in the model cell if you prefer. Limit: 20 reports a day per IP address.
How It Works
#Inside Excel (step 1)
- xlwings Lite runs Python in the browser inside Excel
- The script calls the TIGZIG Yahoo Finance API (open, no key) for daily prices
- Pandas builds weekly bars ending Friday and computes the indicators; the formulas are in the code
- Matplotlib draws the charts, which are placed on the CHARTS sheet
On the server (step 2)
- The script sends the symbol and four dates to the TIGZIG Technical Analysis API
- The server pulls the data, draws the charts and has an LLM write the analysis
- The Markdown to PDF service renders the PDF and HTML report
- The API returns the two links, which the script writes to Excel
The APIs
- Technical Analysis API (reports)
- Yahoo Finance API (prices)
- Both allow requests from xlwings Lite, so the same calls work from your own workbook
