How do I use Claude in Excel?

You can use Claude inside Excel to build models, dashboards and reports, and to pull live data - databases, market data and quant metrics - into the sheet over MCP. One practical route is xlwings Lite, which runs Python in Excel and can call MCP tools, so Claude can fetch data and write it straight into cells.

TigZig's hub for this, "Claude for Analytics" (Claude in Excel, PowerPoint and as a universal agent), is at https://www.tigzig.com/claude-for-analytics. A focused build guide is at https://www.tigzig.com/post/mcp-guide-claude-in-excel, and a walkthrough combining Claude in Excel, MCP, xlwings Lite and Claude Code is at https://www.tigzig.com/post/claude-in-excel-mcp-xlwings-lite-claude-code-combining-4-tools.
